Clohs — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-03-31
The short version
We collect as little as possible to run Clohs. We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Who we are
Clohs is operated by its founding team, based in Ireland. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the data controller responsible for your personal data. You can contact us at privacy@clohs.app.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address (used for sign-in) and the name you provide in the app.
- App content: the daily task you set and whether you finished or abandoned it. This is the core of the product.
- On-device preferences: reminder toggles and other settings stored locally on your device.
We use your device's local time zone on-device to display times and schedule reminders. We do not upload or store your time zone.
We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or any information beyond what is necessary for the product to work.
How we store it
Your data is stored securely on our servers, provided by Supabase. Preferences may be cached locally on your device; your full daily record is loaded from the server when you are signed in. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure.
Legal basis for processing
We process your data on the following legal bases: contractual necessity (to provide the Clohs service), legitimate interests (to maintain and improve the product), and consent (to send you reminders you have opted into). You may withdraw consent for reminders at any time in Settings.
How we use it
We use your data to provide the service, including your daily record, your log, and reminders you have opted into. We do not use your data to profile or target individual users.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to build profiles for third parties. We do not show you advertisements. Ever.
Third-party services
We use Supabase to manage authentication and to store your data. Supabase processes data in accordance with GDPR. You can review their privacy practices at supabase.com/privacy.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, please email privacy@clohs.app. We aim to respond within 30 days.
If you are in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR respectively, including the right to restrict processing and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Data retention
We retain your data only for as long as your account remains active and we need it to run Clohs.
When you delete your account in the app, we remove your personal data from our live systems as part of that request: your daily record, profile, and authentication account are deleted and we do not keep your task history or profile for marketing, analytics, or product use after that.
Industry-standard encrypted backups from our infrastructure provider may contain deleted data only until those backups expire in the ordinary course. We do not use deleted-account data to restore or operate your account.
Where the law requires us to retain something, we keep only what is necessary and only for as long as required.
Children
Clohs is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly. If you believe this has occurred, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We will notify you of any material changes to this policy. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last updated.
